Toxic Foods

These foods should never be fed to your pets:
1. Chocolate
2. Caffeine
3. Alcohol
4. Grapes/Raisins
5. Onions
6. Garlic
7. Macadamia nuts
8. Coconut Water
9. Milk and Dairy
10. Nuts
11. Raw and Undercooked meats, eggs, and bones
12. Salt and salty snacks
13. Xylitol (found in sugar-free gum, candies, and dental products)
14. Yeast Dough

Toxic Plants

Some plants are also toxic to pets. Symptoms can range from mild gastrointestinal upset including vomiting and diarrhea to organ failure and even death. The ASPCA website has a good page to help you determine if your plants (inside and out) could be toxic to your pet.

Medications

Although we sometimes use “human” medications in pets some can be toxic and others are used at very different doses and so it is important to always check with your veterinarian before giving ANY medications to your pet.
